Talk to your vet
When a pet has a serious illness or progressive functional decline, ask the veterinary team to explain what is known, what treatment or palliative care may and may not achieve, and how comfort will be assessed. Track concrete observations such as appetite, hydration, breathing, pain behaviour, hygiene, mobility, sleep, interaction and activities the animal normally values.
